SGT-800 gas turbine reaches over half a million operating hours

SGT-800 gas turbine
The Siemens industrial gas turbine SGT-800 has reached the major milestone of 500,000 operating hours. The fleet leader alone has achieved almost 50,000 running hours. Until now 79 turbines of this type have been sold. The output of the SGT-800 gas turbine recently has been increased from 45 to 47 megawatts (MW). There is a growing demand for this turbine particularly in Russia, Australia and South-East Asia.
The SGT-800 is designed for high reliability as measured by reliability factors of 99 percent in operation and 95 percent at start. With the availability factor of 96 percent the turbine can be used in simple cycle, combined cycle applications and cogeneration. This high-efficiency turbine minimizes NOx emissions through the use of a Dry Low Emissions (DLE) burner.
